Downtown Kewanee is a furniture/home decorating enthusiast’s dream. The downtown area is anchored by Good’s Furniture House, an independent furniture retailer that includes 250,000 sq. ft. of showroom space across 3 city blocks. The family owned retailer has been a staple of Kewanee’s downtown since 1895 and has been operated by the Good Family for 5 generations.
The Good’s Furniture complex is truly a destination retail attraction. It is a well known throughout the Midwest for the breadth of the furniture brand names and for the quality of its customer service. The Good’s Furniture House complex also includes the Market Square Gift Shop, the Rathskeller Wine Cellar Bistro & Bakery, and European Bed & Breakfast Suites for the weary traveler.
A number of other furniture/home accessories stores, appliance retailers, and home improvement companies are located in Kewanee’s downtown making it a magnet for the home improvement connoisseur.

An Amtrak Station is located in downtown Kewanee with four stops daily – two heading to Chicago and two heading west to Quincy, Illinois. The City is in the planning stages for a new train station facility that will provide the latest in passenger comforts. Travel times to Chicago via Amtrak from Kewanee are less than two hours.
