I-80 is the second longest Interstate Highway in the United States and runs from San Francisco, CA on the west coast to Teaneck, NJ on the east coast. Kewanee is located 10 miles south of the I-80/IL Route 78 interchange at Annawan, Illinois. I-80 connects Kewanee to major Midwest and Northeast US markets, as well as to markets in the Great Plains, Mountain States, and the West Coast.

Kewanee is located 20 miles east of I-74. I-74 connects the Quad Cities, IL/IA and Peoria, IL Metro Areas and continues through several Midwestern States and services a number of Southeastern States. I-80 and I-74 converge 20 miles west of Kewanee.

Kewanee is 38 miles from the nearest interchange on I-88, an intrastate interstate that links Western Illinois to the Chicago Metro Area.

US 34, IL 78, IL 81 all converge in downtown Kewanee providing for the convenient flow of products through the area.

Rail Transportation

Kewanee is served by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad, a Class 1 railroad. Kewanee also has Amtrak – Northeast/Southwest passenger rail service and has a depot located in the heart of the downtown.

Waterways

Kewanee is located equidistantly from both the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. There are 50 barge terminals (26 served by rail and interstate) on the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities Metro Area. The Peoria Barge Terminal on the Illinois River is located in the Peoria Metro Area and is a multi-modal terminal with access to rail and the local interstate (I-474).
