Downtown Kewanee

A vibrant, old fashioned downtown

Kewanee’s downtown is filled with historic charm.

Downtown Kewanee is a furniture/home decorating enthusiast’s dream. The downtown area is anchored by Good’s Furniture House, an independent furniture retailer that includes 250,000 sq. ft. of showroom space across 3 city blocks. The family owned retailer has been a staple of Kewanee’s downtown since 1895 and has been operated by the Good Family for 5 generations.

Besides furniture and home furnishings, a wide range of other businesses keeps the downtown humming with opportunity. A number of financial institutions, real estate companies, gift shops, sporting goods retailers, apparel stores, restaurants, coffee shops, an art gallery and an historic museum call downtown Kewanee home.

An Amtrak Station is located in downtown Kewanee with four stops daily – two heading to Chicago and two heading west to Quincy, Illinois. The City is in the planning stages for a new train station facility that will provide the latest in passenger comforts. Travel times to Chicago via Amtrak from Kewanee are less than two hours.
